An ambitious experiment in electronic instrumentation, ambient folk/drone rock, and introspective songwriting, "Parentheticals (an album)" is an exciting new development in Eric Elliott's musical career. As his second solo dulcimer album, "Parentheticals" is a disparate and strange mix of heartfelt and poignant sounds, thoughts, and memories collected over the last four years and across three different hometowns.

n his first solo dulcimer album, "Dots and Lines," Eric Elliott uses both acoustic and solid-body electric mountain dulcimers to lend a unique sound to his seemingly straightforward, but lush and warm songwriting. This is certainly not a traditional "dulcimer album," although the dulcimer plays a central part in each song, as he re-defines the image of this traditional bluegrass/gospel instrument, and uses it’s versatile and poignant sound to define his own unique brand of folk, Rock, jazz, Americana, and pop.

Simply a few piano songs that Eric found himself playing more and more often as the days got shorter and nights got colder. All songs are continuous and accompanied by the background sounds of a fire. Perhaps these songs will keep you as warm as they have kept him.
