My trusty Force d'Osshe 6-string dulcimer from Blue Lion Instruments
The dulcimer is a unique and beautiful instrument, and it's also a lot of fun to play. I was fortunate enough to have several friends and family members help me discover the world of mountain dulcimer music, and now, with over 8 years of playing experience, I would like to share any tips or techniques that I've picked up.
The dulcimer is also an extremely versatile instrument, and I can help fellow players branch out into new genres and methods. I have considerable experience playing jazz, classical, and rock songs; playing in ionian, dorian, mixolydian modes; with fingerpicking, two-handed "tapping," and clawhammer techniques; and with transcribing, composing, and arranging music. I think that everybody can enjoy making their very own type of music through the dulcimer, and I would like to help!
Right now I am offering dulcimer lessons in the Boulder, CO area. If you like what you've seen/heard on this website, or if you've seen me play at a show or festival and would like to learn more about the instrument and how to play it, please send me a message through the link below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can! Thanks,
